전 세계 지구촌 청소년들과 지도자분들이 세계 최초로 온라인에서 진행된 4주간의 세계디지털야영대회를 즐겁게 즐기셨는지요?

 

오늘(15일)을 끝으로 '2020년 세계디지털야영대회'는 대단원의 막을 내리게 되었습니다.

생각보다 그 영향력은 정치ㆍ경제ㆍ사회ㆍ비즈니스 등 어느 하나 영향이 미치지 않는 곳이 없을 정도로 코로나바이러스로 세계가 변화하고 있습니다.

 

우리 스카우트운동도 이번 세계디지털야영대회를 시작으로 새로운 패러다임의 준비를 위해 기반을 구축하며 디지털 환경에 적응하고 온라인 플랫폼으로 변화해나가기 위한 첫 걸음이 됐으리라 생각됩니다.

 

지난 몇 백 년 간 우리는 한정된 지구 시스템에서 자원과 기회를 얻기 위한 무한한 경쟁을 벌여 왔습니다.

 

그 결과 역사상 유례없는 자본의 축적과 그 어느 세대보다 다양한 편의를 누리며 삶의 질은 높아졌습니다.

 

하지만, 코로나19로 촉발된 글로벌 팬데믹의 충격은 익숙했던 모든 것에서 벗어나 자연과 공존할 수 있는 해법을 찾기 위한 변곡점이 되기에 충분했습니다.

 

지구촌 30개국에서 5,000여명의 참가자가 663개 패트롤로 구성되어 참여한 이번 디지털 야영대회에서 우리는 자연에서의 생존에 필요한 기술과 원칙ㆍ동료와 조직을 위한 책임감을 배웠습니다.

 

또한, 자연과 함께 하기 위해 플라스틱 줄이기 캠페인, 코로나-19매듭 챌린지 등 다양한 스카우팅 미션을 수행하며 대자연 속에서 이루어지는 미래 대회를 다 함께 준비하기도 했습니다.
