지난해는 코로나19로 전 지구촌이 유례없는 충격으로 정치ㆍ경제ㆍ비지니스 등 사회전반에 막대한 영향력을 끼쳤습니다.

하지만, 우리는 코로나19의 어려운 상황에도 불구하고 슬기롭게 극복하면서 앞만 보고 달려온 2020년은 낙조와 함께 한 해의 끝자락을 넘어 역사의 뒤안길로 사라졌습니다.

선조들이 자주 언급해 온 '세월은 흐르는 물과 같다(歲月流水)'는 말과 '‘닭의 목을 비틀어도 새벽은 온다'는 속담처럼 2021년 하얀 소띠의 해인 새해 신축년(辛丑年)의 새아침이 밝았습니다.

우리들이 삶을 영위하면서 부모님의 깊은 사랑을 덧입고 스승님의 큰 가르침을 받아 왔습니다.

또한 청소년들은 또래들과 함께 소통하고 교감하면서 깊은 우정을 쌓으며 도전의 야망과 큰 꿈의 그림을 그리면서 희망의 미래를 향해 마음껏 달려가고 있습니다.

사회의 한 구성원으로 삶을 살아가면서 키워주고 삶의 방향을 깨닫게 해 주신 부모와 스승ㆍ그리고 웃어른 등에 대한 감사의 마음을 보답할 수 있는 길은 우리가 올바르고 참된 삶을 살아가는 길이라 생각됩니다.

 
사람이 인간답게 세상을 살아가기 위해선 참된 도리가 필요한데 그 중에서도 웃어른을 공경하고 부모님께 효도를 다하는 일일 겁니다. 

경로효친(敬老孝親)사상이야말로 천륜이고 인륜의 대사로 가장 아름답게 살아가는 길이기 때문입니다.

특히, 우리 청소년들이 올바른 인성과 사회성 등을 갖춰 미래 사회의 초석이 될 수 있도록 사회 구성원 모두가 따뜻한 가슴으로 함께 도와줌으로써 그들이 성인으로 성장해 꽃망울을 터트릴 즈음이면 그들만의 꿈과 야망이 가득한 눈부신 장래를 기대할 수 있다 여겨집니다.

아울러 100년에 한 번 유치하기 힘든 지구촌 청소년들의 대축제인 2023 '제25회 세계스카우트잼버리'가 이제 960여일이 남아 있습니다.

960여일이라는 짧은 시간으로 다가선 세계스카우트잼버리를 대한민국 새만금에서 성공적인 대회로 자리매김을 하기 위해서는 전라북도ㆍ부안군을 넘어 우리 국민 모두의 적극적인 지지와 관심 그리고 범정부적인 협업(協業)과 협력이 절실히 필요합니다.

우리들에게 새로운 꿈과 희망이 가득한 새해를 맞아 열린 가슴으로 서로 아끼고 사랑하면서 함께 코로나19를 슬기롭게 극복해 지역사회와 더불어 살아가는 아름다운 사회 기풍을 조성하는 2021년 신축년(辛丑年) 한해가 됐으면 좋겠습니다.
