Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education 'Allocation of new students to PyeongJunhwa High School'

Refusal of distant assignment and no reflection if the academic violence committee is not open

Reporter Kim Hyun-jong

As the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced the results of school assignments on the 15th for those who passed general high schools in the leveling area (Jeonju, Gunsan, Iksan), backlash from parents of students who were assigned to a distance is coming out.

In the case of Jeonju, a flexible quota plan was applied to solve the problem of commuting to school from long distances, but some students who applied for Jeonju Solnae High School were not assigned to high schools located close to their homes, complaining of inconvenience caused by long-distance commuting.

According to Mr. A, a single-parent family, "My child was assigned to a high school in Andeokwon-ro (Inhu-dong) in Deokjin-gu, but the traffic conditions from Songcheon-dong to Inhu-dong are poor, so there is a situation where congestion occurs during rush hour. "Is it necessary to give stress to school children?"

Another parent, Mr. B, said, "I suffered from bullying by my classmates while I was in the first year of middle school, but because the school violence committee was not held at the time, these matters were excluded and I was assigned to the same high school as the perpetrator." He pointed out that there is a problem with the allocation method applied to.

"As a result of inquiring with the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, the School Violence Committee was held, and in the case of students who took measures such as forced transfer, we identified and took measures in advance, but the fact that the School Violence Committee did not officially open and even self-resolved matters were not reflected. "I'm sorry," he said, "I only heard a formal answer."

In addition, "The relevant person explained that there is a way to apply for class separation to the school assigned to the course of the admission process, and if it is judged that it is difficult to adapt in the future, there is a method of requesting a petition review at the Jeonju Office of Education. “I regret that I have solved the problem smoothly, leaving the parents who raise their children, and it is unconditional to proceed to the School Violence Commission.” did.

On the other hand, an official from the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education said, "In the case of high school, it is designated as a single school district according to leveling, so long-distance commuting students inevitably come out through a non-ranking lottery," he said. "Reassignment or transfer to another school is in principle impossible."

The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education held a public lottery for students who passed the leveling general high school with the participation of the superintendent of education, the provincial council chairman of education, parents, students, and representatives of the media in the conference room on the 8th floor of the building at 2 pm on the 12th.
