전북 김제 자유무역지역이 이팩(e-Pac)의 아시아 글로벌 생산 교두보이자 전진기지로 급부상할 것으로 전망된다.

 

16일 김제시청 회의실에서 박준배 김제시장ㆍ전북도 김용만 일자리경제본부장ㆍ이범천 김제자유무역지역관리원장 등이 친환경 디지털 포장재 제조 외투기업인 이팩서울(유) 김민철 대표이사와 투자협약을 체결하고 손에 손을 맞잡았다.

 

이날 투자협약을 체결한 미국 이팩사는 안정적 투자환경과 뛰어난 기술력을 가진 한국을 최종 투자처로 결정하고 이팩서울(유)을 설립, 김제 자유무역지역에 75억원을 투입하고 신규인력 30명을 고용하게 된다.

 

이팩서울(유)은 미국의 글로벌 기업 이팩(e-Pac)으로부터 투자를 받아 김제에 둥지를 틀고 있는 세중산업과 미국의 이팩社가 각각 7:3으로 투자해 지난해 12월 신설한 외투기업이다.
