전북 군산해양경찰서는 22일 통합작전 능력 배양과 임해 중요시설 테러 대응 역량 강화를 골자로 청사 회의실에서 항만방호 도상 훈련을 실시했다.

이번 훈련은 가상의 테러 세력이 군산항을 폭파시켜 사회를 혼란시키기 위해 납치한 국제여객선에 폭발물을 설치한 상태로 입항을 시도하는 과정에 경비함정에 포착되자 도주하는 상황이 시나리오로 설정됐다.

특히 통합방위 작전능력 향상을 위해 당초 군산시청ㆍ군(軍)ㆍ경찰ㆍ소방 등 지역 유관기관과 합동으로 가상의 테러범을 추격해 제압하는 형식으로 진행될 예정이었으나 최근 코로나19 유행 통제 및 오미크론 확산 방지와 정부의 사회적 거리두기 수칙에 보조를 맞추기 위해 최소 인원으로 구성한 자체 훈련단만 참여한 가운데 이뤄졌다.
