전동성당은 외부 벽돌 표면에서 박리현상과 함께 풍화작용이 진행되는 과정에 외벽 벽동 14여만장 가운데 8,000여장이 훼손돼 지난 2020년 6월부터 총 10억원을 투입 보수정비를 진행했다.
