Reporter Kim Ga-young

Gimje-si, Jeollabuk-do, changed the name of the 'Youth Intern Employee System' to 'Employment Youth Settlement Allowance' from the 1st and extended the period of support for beneficiaries, and will recruit 33 additional participants by the 26th.

The ‘Youth Intern Employee System’ is a key youth policy in Gimje City, and has been receiving favorable reviews for contributing to regional settlement by selecting 183 people as participants from 2019 and supporting young people who have been employed in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the region by inducing job creation and long-term service.

Through this business change, the target scope has been expanded from small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the jurisdiction to young people working in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.

In particular, the wage conditions were relaxed from less than 2.5 million won per month to those earning 180% or less of the median household income (based on single-person households = 3,290,096 won).

In addition, it plans to provide support up to 18 million won (300,000 won per month) by significantly extending the support period from a maximum of 2 years to a maximum of 5 years.

The payment method is 900,000 won for each quarter up to 2 years after the contract, 1.8 million won for each half year from 2 to 4 years, and 3.6 million won as a lump sum after the 5th year.

The target audience is young adults aged 18 to 39 who are employed as regular workers in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (with 5 or more full-time workers) within the jurisdiction, whose monthly salary is 180% or less of the median household income, and who work 36 hours or more per week.

However, if you live in another area, you must be able to move in within one month from the date of notification of selection, and young people who are participating in similar support projects are excluded.

Young people wishing to participate can either visit Gimje City Hall's Economic Promotion Division Youth Entrepreneurship Team with the relevant documents by the 26th or apply online through the Gimje Youth Space website.

Participants will be selected through document screening.

For other details, refer to the notice and notice section on the website of Gimje City Hall or contact the Youth Startup Team at the Gimje City Hall Economic Promotion Division for guidance.

Park Jun-bae, Mayor of Gimje, said, "I am confident that the 'Employment Youth Settlement Allowance' will become a driving force for local young people to realize their dreams and work vigorously.
