올해로 21회를 맞는 '익산 천만송이 국화축제'가 18일 중앙체육공원에서 열흘간의 대장정을 시작하는 축포를 쏘아 올렸다.

 

이번 국화축제는 '천만송이 국화로 정원을 꽃피우다'는 주제로 오는 27일까지 중앙체육공원ㆍ신흥공원 꽃바람정원과 솜리빛담길까지 확대됐다.

 

미륵사지와 익산역ㆍ신흥근린공원에 분산된 꽃 전시는 축제가 폐막한 이후인 11월 3일까지 늦가을을 장식할 예정이다.

 

개막식은 화려한 점등식으로 축제의 서막을 알렸다.
