전북도교육청이 지역 특성과 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 폐교 활용 정책을 추진한다.

20일 도교육청에 따르면 기존 폐교 활용은 보존 내지는 관리 위주의 소극적 정책을 추진했으나 서거석 교육감 취임 이후 지역과 상생하는 맞춤형으로 전환했다.

특히 기본 방향은 ▲ 학생 교육활동을 위한 체험시설 ▲ 청소년 자치 예술미래 공간 ▲ 어린이 생태놀이터 ▲ 자체 교육기관 설립 등이 골자다.

또한 폐교가 위치한 지자체와 협의하는 절차를 거쳐 ▲ 문화 체육시설 ▲ 평생 교육시설 ▲ 생태 환경시설 등으로 활용할 수 있도록 협력한다는 방침이다.
