전북경찰청이 오는 2023년 2월까지 의무경찰 단계적 폐지에 따른 치안공백 해소를 위해 11일 '제3기동대'를 창설(創設)했다.

경찰 82명으로 편제된 '제3기동대'는 생활정의 실현을 골자로 범죄 예방 등 민생치안 활동은 물론 재난 및 대규모 행사와 각종 집회시위와 경호경비 등 경찰 업무 전반을 책임지는 다기능 전문부대다.

특히 인권의식 함양을 위한 집중교육과 훈련을 마친 뒤 ▲ 형사 ▲ 방범 ▲ 교통 ▲ 성범죄 예방활동 등 도내 주요 민생치안 업무에 맞는 특성화로 다양한 지원업무 수행에 투입될 예정이다.

이를 위해 2주간 임무수행 능력 조기 배양을 위해 전문교관단의 직무ㆍ경호 및 현장근무 교육ㆍ집회시위 법률과 인원 교육 및 기초체력ㆍ팀빌딩 훈련을 진행했다.

이형세(치안감) 전북경찰청장은 기념사를 통해 "시대의 변화에 따라 창설된 부대인 만큼, 도민의 안전과 행복을 최우선 목표로 '가장 안전한 나라ㆍ존경과 사랑받는 경찰'이 될 수 있도록 폭넓은 업무의 이해와 세심한 대응능력에 최선을 다해 줄 것"을 당부했다.
