전북도체육회는 "학교운동부에 소속되지 않았지만 운동에 재능이 있는 인재를 발굴ㆍ육성하기 위해 지난 22일부터 5일간 임실 다목적체육관에서 초등학생(3~6년)과 중학생(1년)을 대상으로 '제2회 체육영재선발대회' 예선을 치뤘다"고 30일 밝혔다.

기초 및 운동체력 측정이 이뤄진 예선 통과자 122명은 오는 9월 7일 같은 장소에서 결선 진출의 마지막 관문인 운동체력과 신경반응 및 운동 협업능력 등의 본선을 치를 예정이다.

결선 진출자 전원에게는 체육장학금(50만원)이 지급되며 우승ㆍ준우승ㆍ3위 입상자에게는 장학금이 추가로 수여된다.
